Matthew Hartzell is the Vulnerability Research Manager at BitSight, leading multiple teams focused on vulnerability detection, product fingerprinting, and advanced research initiatives. With over 20 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, Matthew specializes in implementing AI/ML solutions to enhance cyber threat intelligence capabilities and spearheads collaborative research automation projects.
Previously, Matthew served at Oracle, overseeing a comprehensive security research team of 12 professionals, and as Threat Research Manager at CrowdStrike, where Matthew pioneered ML-driven approaches to minimize false positive rates in malicious activity detection. Matthew holds a Master of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University and has extensive experience in vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and offensive cyber capabilities developed through senior technical roles with the National Security Agency and leading government contractors.
